Guest Lecture on “An Environmental Impact Review of Renewable Energy Use and Mitigation Strategies”

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of SRM Valliammai Engineering College has conducted Guest lecture on the topic of “An Environmental Impact Review Of Renewable Energy Use and Mitigation Strategies” on 18th September 2021 through the MS Team (Online Mode) for students’ community. The session was presented by the resource person Mr.B.Mailesh, Associate Software Engineer, IBM India Pvt Ltd, Chennai. The session started with importance of Renewable Energy. He discussed about the Environmental impacts of solar power, Wind power, Hydro Electric power and Geothermal Energy. He disused about EIA process and also discussed about climate change mitigation. He explained major challenges of Renewable energies such as CO2 emissions, climate change, power quality issues and Environmental benefits of renewable energy. Also, he shared his experience as a student in our college. At the end of the session the students interacted with the resource person. The participant’s felt guest lecture was very informative and also had exposure in Environmental Impact of Renewable Energy.
