The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering organized a Guest Lecture on the topic “Recent Trends in Power Production and Utilization” in Association with Renewable Energy Club, for creating Awareness about the National Energy Conservation Day Co organized by IEEE SRM Valliammai Student Branch, Institution’s Innovation Council, ISTE Faculty Chapter & ISTE Student Chapter on 14.12.2022, for the benefit of first year students of EEE and MECH
The event started with welcome address and Resource Person Introduction which was delivered by Mr. S.Venkatesh Assistant Prof /EEE. The Resource person Dr.S.SANKARANARAYANAN, Former General Manager/TamilNadu Energy Development Agency-(TEDA) Superintending Engineer/TANGEDCO/Chennai/Retired has delivered the lecture on concept of Recent Trends in Power Generation and Utilization. He has explained the Importance and Scope of Renewable Energy Sources for future Sustainable Growth of the Nation. He Also Discussed about the Significance of Electrical Energy Savings in Our Day today Life. Finally he discussed about the Present Scenario and major challenges of Renewable Energy Systems Implementation and their Policy making in India. At the end of the session the students interacted with the resource person and cleared their doubts. The participants found that the Guest Lecture was very informative. Around 87 students and 12 faculties of EEE & MECH attended the Guest Lecture. Mr. G.Lokesh, Assistant Prof/MECH delivered the Vote of thanks and thanked the resource person for accepting the invitation..
