Industrial Visit on 11-10-2020

The session was started at 10.30AM through Ms Team Platform

Mr P. VEERAMUTHU, Manager-Solar PV Projects & Skill Development Training Arunika Green Energy Private Limited, Chennai, had started the session at 10.35 AM .He had greeted the staff members and the students and he gave a brief introduction about their company and its routine work. The industrial visit began with incorporating some theoretical talk regarding basics of electrical Engineering concepts. He had gave the brief introduction about the Fundaments of solar photovoltaic system components such as Solar cell, modules, array, converter, cables, earthing equipment’s, DC combiner Box ,Protection Devices and Mounting structure of Solar Photovoltaic System.

He had presented the theoretical concepts about the Grid tied Roof top Solar photovoltaic systems and he gave detailed explanation about the Role of Grid tied Inverter ant its classification. He explained the basic idea about the design procedure of grid tied and standalone photovoltaic systems. He presented the concepts of sizing of roof top solar photovoltaic systems ,sizing of battery, sizing of array, sizing of grid tied solar inverter ,sizing of inverter strings and finally he had explained the MPPT concepts and interfacing the net meter with the Grid tied Solar Photovoltaic and live video was demonstrated to the students about connection string inverter to SPV System were discussed both practically and theoretically which made the session more interactive.

The students were able to remember and recall the theory studied about the converter and inverter circuits in the courses like Power Electronics and Digital Signal Processing .The industrial visit proved to be very helpful for the students and went seamlessly by which the student got a brief idea on electrical safety and its protection along with real time applications. It was around 12.00 PM we had completed the Industrial Visit session
