Seminar on “Electric Vehicle-Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs)” on 24th March 2022

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of SRM Valliammai Engineering College has conducted Seminar on the topic of “Electric Vehicle-Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs)” on 24th March 2022 through the MS Teams (Online Mode) for the Faculties and Students of EEE Department. The session was presented by the resource person Madhumitha Sunderbabu, Junior Support Engineer, Morgan Stanley, RMZ Ecoworld, Bangalore. Speaker conveyed the introduction of Electric Vehicle and Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). She also discussed about the Electric vehicles have low running costs as they have fewer moving parts for maintaining and also very environmentally friendly as they use little or no fossil fuels (petrol or diesel). Orator point out the Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) use batteries to power an electric motor and another fuel, such as gasoline, to power an internal combustion engine (ICE) and also enlightened PHEV batteries can be charged using a wall outlet or charging equipment, by the ICE, or through regenerative braking. At the end of the session the students interacted with the resource person and she has cleared their doubts. The participants found that the Seminar was very informative and had exposure in opportunities for Electric Vehicle-Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
