Workshop on the topic “Recent Developments in Microgrid” on 14.09.2022

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a Workshop on the topic “Recent Developments in Microgrid” in association with Renewable Energy Club, IEEE SRM Valliammai Student Branch, Institution’s Innovation Council, ISTE Faculty Chapter & ISTE Student Chapter on 14.09.2022, for the benefit of students of EEE.

The event started with welcome address delivered by Mr. M. Selva Ganapathy of III-year EEE. Ms. S.Alan Maraesha of II year EEE presented the Department achievements of academic year 2021-22 and Mr. Pandi Selvam of III year EEE introduced the resource person. The Resource person Dr.V.S.Sriraja Balaguru, Assistant Executive Engineer/Non-Conventional Energy Sources, TNEB Headquarters, Chennai delivered the lecture on concept of Microgrid and significance and recent techniques on micro grid. The workshop focused on types, use and working of Microgrid. Finally he discussed about the current status and major challenges of Microgrid in India. At the end of the session the students interacted with the resource person and cleared their doubts. The participants found that the Workshop was very informative. Around 84 students and 17 faculties of EEE attended the workshop. Ms. P.Lakshya, II year EEE delivered the Vote of thanks and thanked the resource person for accepting the invitation.
